Tennis elbow
Tennis elbow is an injury typically associated with tennis playing, characterized by pain radiating from the outside of the elbow to the forearm and back of the hand. Pain worsens by moving your arm or by gripping objects.
    Causes:
Basically this injury is due to repeated motions of the wrist or forearm. In tennis this condition is attributed to a one-handed backhand with a poor technique, a late forehand swing resulting in bending the wrist excessively and a powerful serve with an improper turn in the wrist.
    Treatment:
The first thing to do is rest the arm to prevent further injury and ease the pain. Put ice on the area 2-3 times per day for 15 minutes to decrease inflammation. Also anti-inflammatory medication can be use to ease the pain and help the healing process.
If this treatment doesn't relieve the symptoms it means that the injury is more serious or you might have another type of injury and you should consult a doctor.
    Prevention:
The best way to prevent tennis elbow is to strengthen the muscles involved in the swing, use a good warm-up routine and the correct technique and movement during the game. You can also loosen string tension to reduce the vibration the arm receives, use a vibration dampener and check if you are using the right grip size.
